2000 Firefighters Memorial Service:
The 2000 Stateline Area Firefighters Memorial was held on September 30th in Beloit,
Wisconsin, and included departments from Wisconsin and Illinois. Each year, the
Firefighters Memorial Committee selects one aerial ladder truck from Wisconsin, and one
from Illinois, to fly the American Flag at the end of the parade route, under which the
parade will pass before beginning the memorial service.
This year, the Milton Fire Department received the honor of being chosen as the fire
department to represent Wisconsin, and to fly the American flag from our ladder truck,
Ladder 139. Our partner from Illinois was the North Park Fire Department.
In the picture below, Milton's Ladder 139 is on the right, with North Park's ladder on
the left. Beloit Memorial High School is in the background, and was the site of the
memorial service.
